Description

Oppression occurs when individuals are systematically subjected to political, economic, cultural, or social degradation because they belong to a social group. Microaggressions are brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignity, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicates a hostile, derogatory, or negative slight or insult toward people. ALLYSHIP is an active, consistent, and arduous practice of unlearning and reevaluating, in which a person of privilege seeks to operate in solidarity with a marginalized group of people.

These great slides that Lauren Burrows developed provides definitions and exercises to identify and better understand oppression and micro-aggression, and describes and offers tools to help you engage in Allyship within your partnership.
